Wonder Music School has been in the the Richmond Hill community since 1993. Over the past 30 years, we have had the pleasure of inspiring thousands of students, including those who have gone on to graduate from the RCM program, make music into careers, and those for whom music is now an inseperable part of life.
Our mission is simple: to provide a world-class music education, where students can explore their imagination, gain confidence, and discover their talents with our highly qualified and passionate teachers.

Our Teachers
Our teachers are passionate about sharing their love of music with students and families. Carefully selected for their education, approachability, and experience teaching a variety of ages, they work diligently to deliver and unforgettable experience for their students.
Being a master of their instrument is just the beginning. Our teachers know how to create a bond between a student and the instrument of their choice. To push our students further, Wonder Music School continuously strives to include and prepare our students for a variety of performances, recitals, and events around the community. This way, children feel they are learning with a purpose in mind.

Olga Benifand
Piano / Theory
Olga teaches piano (preliminary to advanced) and theory (beginner to advanced). She earned a Masters in Piano from the Moscow State Conservatory. Olga teaches classical, broadway, modern and pop styles. She speaks English and Russian.

Lana Molchanova
Piano
Lana teaches piano (preliminary to advanced) and theory (beginner to intermediate). She graduated from Kharkov’s State College of Music and Kharkov’s University of Arts with a degree in Piano. Lana teaches classical, broadway, and pop styles. She speaks English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Spanish.

Slav Kuprijanov
Guitar / Bass / Drums
Slav Kuprijanov graduated from Taganrog School of Arts and Music, Trebas Institute and Michael Pokrovsky Guitar Academy. Slav has been teaching music for over 20 years. He specializes in teaching guitar bass and drums. Slav is also a composer and a lyricist. He plays in many musical projects, ranging from classical, jazz and blues to rock, pop, R&B and EDM.

Miss. Julie
Piano / Theory
Miss. Julie teaches preliminary to intermediate level piano and theory. She studied the piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto since 1987. She teaches classical and popular styles of music.

Faaya Ghazanfari
Piano / Theory / Guitar
Faaya has graduated Berklee College of Music and started teaching piano, guitar & theory since 2014. Faaya loves music and teaching it in a fun way so her students fall in love with it.

Milad Mokhtari Fard
Guitar / Vocal / Drums
Milad is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, began to learn music at the age of 15 with studying piano, He is the lead singer and guitarist of the band Dust Citizens, Milad has released his album in 2021 and had various performances both with his band and in solo experiments.

Haleh Arami Rezaei
Piano
Haleh Arami Rezaei is a distinguished piano teacher and music educator with over two decades of experience in teaching piano performance and music theory. Her teaching approach reflects a rich blend of classical training, pedagogical depth, and an ongoing passion for educational research and innovation. Haleh began her musical journey at the age of 9 under the guidance of several of Iran’s most respected pianists and music educators, including Golriz Hashemi and Sharif Lotfi. Over the years, she has built a reputation for excellence in music instruction, preparing students for various performance opportunities and Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations, supported by her RCM teaching certifications.

Reza Nazafati
Guitar
Reza Nazafati holds a Master degree in Guitar with Iran State Music Academy. Reza has more than 35 years of experience in teaching classical, acoustic and electric guitar. He is very passionate about passing his knowledge and skills to his students.

Pedram Shitrah
Guitar
Pedram Shitrah is a musician, instructor, and composer with over 15 years of experience teaching acoustic and electric guitar, specializing in Heavy Metal and Progressive Metal. He is the founder and lead guitarist of the international band Artamene, as well as a registered member of SOCAN and the Canada Council for the Arts. Pedram’s teaching goal is to deliver musical knowledge in a professional and structured manner while inspiring students and nurturing their creativity.

Paula Shapiro
Piano / Vocal
Paula Shapiro is currently pursuing her ARCT diploma, bringing a strong foundation of musical training to every piano and voice lesson. She combines the structure of the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum with a flexible, student-centered approach. Whether a student is preparing for RCM exams, concerts, competitions, auditions, or simply learning for personal enjoyment, lessons are tailored to meet each student’s unique goals. Paula creates a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel encouraged to grow, challenge themselves, and enjoy the process of making music.

James Wang
Drums
James brings over nine years of music experience here at Wonder Music School, having performed in a variety of recitals and live events that showcase his passion for music. As a teacher, James teaches in a student-focused environment, adapting to each student and their learning pace. He is comfortable with teaching various genres that allow students to expand their musical repertoire and versatility while maintaining strong fundamentals. James prioritizes patience, steady progress, and most importantly, a deep appreciation for music.

Marina Sarkisov
Vocal / Piano
Marina teaches vocal (preliminary to advanced) and piano (beginner to intermediate). She is a graduate of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow. Marina teaches classical, broadway, pop and modern styles. She speaks English and Russian.

Volha (Ola) Kuzmitskaya
Guitar / Piano
Volha (Ola) has a Bachelor's degree in in Music from Gorodno University with a specialization in classical guitar. She has over 20 years teaching experience teaching in groups and one-on-one classical, acoustic, and electric guitar method to students. Her passion for music also extends to piano - which she teaches to students at intermediate and beginner levels and to vocals, where she instructs at the beginner to intermediate levels. She has been preparing students at a variety of levels for RCM exams in piano, guitar, and theory.

Raisa Dubosarsky
Piano / Theory
Raisa graduated from Kaluga Regional College of Music with Piano Pedagogy and Music Theory Diploma. After graduation she was working as a music teacher and developed a unique method of early musical education. Raisa is very enthusiastic and creative person. She has extensive teaching experience in Russia, Israel and Canada

Anetta Dimitrov
Piano / Theory
Anetta teaches piano (preliminary to intermediate) and theory (beginner).
Anetta has over 20 years of teaching and performing experience. She has the passion and knowledge to guide each student to full potential. Anetta has been preparing students of all ages, for RCM exams, festivals and recitals. She teaches classical, Broadway, pop and modern styles.

Neda Zarekarizi
Piano
Neda has started learning music and playing the piano from an early age. She participated in the master classes of reputable professors and succeeded in receiving the master class certificate of teaching piano. Neda prepares her students to conservatory exams with high results. She puts lots of effort to pass her passion and knowledge to young musicians.

Elena Choheili
Vocal / Guitar
Elena has been singing for as long as she can remember and discovered a love for guitar a few years ago. With multiple years of musical performance experience, including performative choir and electric guitar concerts, Elena brings both stage and ensemble knowledge into her teaching. Her teaching style leans towards a more creative and casual approach, encouraging students to enjoy every step of making music while also building confidence in their abilities.

Sophie Kovtun
Piano
Sophie has been playing the piano since the age of 8. She has performed ERCT-level pieces in several concerts and has experience teaching young students. Sophie aims to help all her students advance to the ERCT level in a way that inspires them to make piano their number one passion.

Michael Mirsaeedi
Violin / Theory / Piano
Michael teaches violin in both classical and Iranian styles to a wide range of students—from wide-eyed elementary school kids who think the bow is a magic wand (they’re not entirely wrong), to seasoned professionals from the International Symphony Orchestra seeking a fresh perspective or a new challenge.
He also teaches piano to beginners, bringing energy, creativity, and just the right amount of dad-joke humor to keep lessons fun and engaging.
Michael says: “I’ve learned that every student is wonderfully unique. Some learn by ear, some by sight. My job is to meet them where they are and help them build confidence, technique, and a genuine love for music.”

Sophie Wang
Piano / Theory
Sophie teaches piano (preliminary to intermediate) and theory (beginner to intermediate). She has over a decade of piano performing experience and achieved the Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (ARCT) with first class honours. Sophie prioritizes connecting with students and teaching with patience and encouragement.

Leeka Parra
Vocal / Violin
At Wonder Music School, we believe that great teachers light the way for students to discover their musical potential. With many years of experience as a classical vocalist and violinist, Leeka Parra brings passion, creative enthusiasm, and a student-centred approach to every lesson. Trained as a classical singer, Leeka has earned numerous accolades in both local and international competitions. She is also excited to guide students in exploring diverse vocal styles—from musical theatre to contemporary pop and beyond. Leeka offers personalized lessons tailored to each student’s goals, whether it's building confidence as a singer or violinist, or simply cultivating a love for learning.
