Music is diverse because it’s shaped by the places, people, and traditions it comes from. Different styles grew out of local environments, cultures, and beliefs. Our Genre Diversity program gives you the freedom to choose any instrument or musical style. Here are some examples:
Classical/Broadway
Explore how musical style changed from era to era by learning music of the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century. Learn from a great selection of favorite Broadway classics and musicals - a great bridge between classical music and modern pop.
Popular Music/Rock
Pop music is a flexible category. You will find a wide range of music fit in this category but first of all you will learn the music you love: from 1950s to today’s hottest hits, from Jazz-like easy listening to Heavy Metal. Pop also includes music from TV and Movies - this helps you learn to play by ear. And keep in mind - there are hundreds of flavors such as Latin, Caribbean, Spanish and more.
Jazz/Rhythm and Blues
Jazz is a huge musical stream, often difficult to define. Improvisation is a key element of performing jazz. You can choose your favorite tunes from the beginning of the 20th century to modern and contemporary. Imaginations can easily be awakened by jazz - you will learn how to compose your own jazz pieces. You can also learn rhythm and blues or R&B, the modern version of the soul and funk influenced African-American pop music.
Country/Native Music
This program ideally combines live and musical experience together with a musical touch that can often only be inherited from your family and culture. It is possible to have an unpredictable fusion effect when musical cultures and styles are mixed.
What happens if your composition doesn’t match any known style? Congratulations, you have invented a new one!
