Royal Conservatory of Music
Wonder Music School recommends and encourages their students to participate in The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum - one of the best designed and most comprehensive music programs in the world.
Each year, more than 100,000 students across North America participate in the RCM examinations. Royal Conservatory exams offer a unified benchmark across Canada, allowing students, parents, and teachers to monitor growth and accomplishments. The process of preparing for and passing these exams fosters confidence and instills a strong sense of personal achievement.
All Ontario students, successfully completed RCM Grade 7 and Grade 8 exams with the required theory components are eligible for high school credits:
-
RCM Grade 7 + Intermediate Rudiments = Grade 11 high school credit (AMX3M)
-
RCM Grade 8 + Advanced Rudiments = Grade 12 high school credit (AMX4M)
These credits are considered optional and count toward your total credit requirements for graduation. Plus, the Grade 12 credit can be used as a U/M course, which means it may factor into your university or college entrance average
Those students who successfully complete the RCM curriculum are transformed into mature professionals, ready to pursue a further mastery of music.
Before applying for an RCM examination, student/parents must discuss this decision with their instructors.
